My tub drain couldnt drain my entire stay and I had to put a cup under the drain to shower, there was burn marks in both the side tables in my room, there was one lamp at the bedside so we could only charge phones and the like one side. What makes this such an awful stay was the dismissive and almost annoyed attitude of your front desk staff and the shabby worn down rooms that do not match the photos. ![]() The cleaning staff was so nice and the security, manager and bartenders in the gold spike were so sweet. To start the staff was absolutely amazing, other then the oasis front desk staff. Parking is included, but spaces are limited. I slept fine with earplugs and an eye mask. They provided earplugs, but they were low quality, so I used earplugs that I already had - and you need them because the music from Gold Spike is quite loud until about 2 or 3 AM. I always wore socks in the room, because I wanted to keep my feet clean. There was a desk that had a sticky substance on the surface, so I put a towel over it before setting my laptop on it. I estimate that she thinks anyone that doesn't agree to her demands is "difficult." It's possible that she was just having a rough day, but more likely that she just lacks people skills.Īfter checking-in, I arrived at my room. She then made the comment that I was "difficult." All the time she was talking on the phone with a friend, talking trash about me to her friend. She barked at me telling me to call Expedia (which I did). She asked me to pay a resort fee in an amount that was more than what Expedia quoted, and when I was trying to discuss it with her she gave me attitude and threatened to refuse checking me in (for a room that was prepaid). You MUST stop and give them your name and room number each time. To reenter the hotel after the bar turned into a nightclub was a bit tricky. The beds, pillows are clean and comfortable. The hallway and rooms are dated and smell of stale smoke. VERY COOL BAR as well as friendly bartenders. ![]() There is a back patio area that is SUPER COOL with many games and lots of seating for hanging out. Bar area is very nice-clean and has carnival type games, pool tables and darts. To enter the hotel, you MUST go through the bar. Once found, check in was smooth and the staff was very nice.
